Katrina’s recent trip to Paphos In Cyprus

Katrina works in our Carlow office and was recently on a trip to Paphos in Cyprus in conjunction with Classic Collection Holiday, Cobalt Air and Cyprus Tourism Organisation. Please read her blog below to hear about her amazing experience and the luxury hotels she visited.

Saturday - My day started by everyone meeting at the Cobalt Air check in desk at 12 Noon. There were 8 Travel Agents from all over Ireland and the group was lead by Niall from Classic Collection Holidays. We were swiftly checked in and given our boarding passes so we could proceed through security. Once through security we made our way to the Dublin Authority Executive Lounge where we were able to avail of lovely fresh sandwiches, pastries, biscuits and buns or enjoy the Tea/Coffee or relax with a choice of alcohol from the bar which was all included with the Entry fee.

The Cobalt Air Flights Flies out to Larnaca on Saturday and Wednesday weekly and returns on Saturday and Wednesday.  We were lucky enough to be upgraded to Emergency exit seats.  The flight took 5 hours and 15 mins. There are snacks available to be purchased on board the aircraft.

We were transferred by private mini bus to our Hotel for our first two nights which was the Columbia Beach Resort.  I received an Executive Sea View Room. The rooms were bright, airy and so luxurious. The Bathroom came from a book of dreams.  I really was being spoilt with this room.

As we arrived late to the resort we all went to bed so we could be up bright an early for a day of exploring.

Sunday - We had our breakfast on the beautiful terrace the following morning at 8am. As we were staying in an Annex building away from Main resort we were brought by Golf buggy back up to reception where we were met by our coach and Mary whom was a representative of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation and our guide for the next 3 days.

We headed for Kourion which was an ancient Theatre.

We then proceeded to Zmbartas Winery to do a bit of Wine Tasting

After the fabulous Wine and Cheese on Bread it was off to the lovely village of Lofou where we were doing a bit of Cookery Class and then our First Typical Cypriot Meze.

Once we were all fed and watered we made our way back to the Columbia Beach Resort where we were being shown around the Resort by the Hotel Manager.
