Matagorda
Matagorda is a purpose built resort and considered an extension of its much larger neighbour Puerto Del Carmen which is only 3km away. This is an advantage in itself as it offers a quieter alternative yet close enough to the action if you fancy it and only a 10 minute transfer from the airport! It is a recent development containing high standards of modern accommodations.
The resort boasts its own commercial centre which is home to numerous bars, restaurants, shops and supermarket. A nice variety of restaurants too including Chinese, Greek, Indian and of course traditional Spanish restaurants. Of course the obligatory Irish bar or two as well!
The fine sandy beach backs onto a promenade where you will find several cafes, bars and restaurants. Water sports are available for hire. Windsurfing is very popular here. Matagorda promenade links directly through to Puerto Del Carmen on one side and Arrrecife on the other.
