Passport/Visa Health Information

Canadian Visa

It is now The Government of Canada's official website to apply for an eTA to fly to, or transit through, a Canadian airport. It only costs $7 CAD

Turkish Visa

As from 10 April 2014, it will no longer be possible for passengers to buy/obtain a visa upon arrival at entry points in Turkey. Instead, passengers should obtain an e-visa (on-line) in advance of their travel.

What are the passport requirements for my trip?

Passport requirements depend on the country you are travelling to.

All Irish citizens will require a passport to travel to other destinations in the EU. You should check the validity on your passport as some countries will require your passport to be valid for at least 6 months after you return, whereas others only require it to be vailid until your return date of travel.

 

Irish passport holders can check with the DFA website for the most up to date information. All other citizens should contact the embassy of the country you are travelling to.  www.dfa.ie

What are the visa requirements for my trip?

Visa requirements depend on the Country you are travelling to, the purpose of your trip and the length of your stay. If you are travelling to an EU destination and have a valid Irish passport, you will not need a visa.

 

If you are and Irish passport holder travelling outside the EU, please contact the DFA for the most up to date advice. www.dfa.ie

 

All other citizens should contact the embassy of the country you are travelling to.

 

 

Will I need vaccinations for my trip?

Depending on the country you are travelling to, you may need vaccinations. You should check with your local GP or contact the Tropical Medical Bureau www.tmb.ie.  It is the responsiblity of each passenger travelling to ensure that they have all the correct immunisation for the countries that they are intending to visit.

 

ESTA Visa

If you are travelling to or via the United States from 12 January 2009, it is essential that you complete the ESTA form - https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/ before you travel.  The online form must be completed at least 72 hours prior to departure, however we recommend that you complete the application as soon as you book your trip.  The ESTA applies to all passengers travelling in your party (adults & children, regardless of age).  

The current cost of the ESTA per person is $14

Once completed the electronic travel authorisation is granted almost immediately and is valid for two years from the date of issue or until the passport that it is issued to expires (within the two years)
