This hotel comes highly recommended. ## Location The hotel is situated directly on the banks of river Salzach overlooking the old town, with magnificent views of the castle on one side. ## Distance 6 kms to the airport (salzburg airport) 180 kms to the airport (munich airport) 3 km to the nearest station (salzburg) 1 minute walk to the nearest bus stop 3 km to the nearest fair site (reed exhibition) ## Rooms Due to the staircase being a main feature of the hotel, all the rooms open onto a landing surrounding the staircase. Rooms are all elegantly and individually furnished, many with original antiques. Both rooms and bathrooms are in good condition. ## Restaurant The hotel has a coffee shop and bar/restaurant area where guests can eat outside in warm weather, directly by the river and overlooking the old part of the town. There is also a quite a relaxed grill restaurant which is popular with the local theatre crowd either before or after a show. ## Exterior The hotel is an impressive traditional building with a stone facade, everything one would expect from one of the leading hotels of the world. ## Lobby The lobby is impressive as the main staircase leads from the lobby up through the entire hotel. It is small in size and traditional in design leading through to a coffee/bar area with a large seating area with plush chairs and sofas.
